Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, an unsettling incident unfolded when an individual claiming to be the proprietor of a food corner allegedly attacked a youth and his mother, who also owns a shop nearby in Guwahati’s Christian Basti locality near GS Road at around 8.30 pm on January 25, 2024.

According to FIR, the owner of the food corner, Nasiur Rahman, along with his brother and other employees, attacked the victim youth, identified as Kunal Yadav, and his 50-year-old mother, Usha Yadav, with hands and an iron rod after a heated disagreement about an issue.

According to reports, the boy said that he and his mother had been mocked and dragged off the road. The group also trashed his personal items and shop, the victim said.

That evening, the mob also attacked Gitartha Sonowal, who arrived to save the victim and his mother.

The victim also stated that Nasiur Rahman had attacked a worker at the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) in the past when the latter asked him not to dump trash from their food stall on the street.

Kunal Yadav, in his complaint letter, asserted that Rahman had been targeting him for the past few months. He highlighted a previous encounter during Durga Puja festivities when Rahman and associates held an open liquor party on the road, threatening Yadav when he intervened. And also urge the police to take action against these individuals and provide us with justice.
