Assault on girl after Bihu dance training; suspect arrested by police
Digital Desk: In Chandrapur, a disturbing incident unfolded as a local girl was sexually harassed following a Bihu dance class, allegedly by a youth from Lakhimpur. The incident occurred at Dhamkhunda.
The swift response of the authorities led to the apprehension of Bairavajyoti Bora from Lakhimpur in connection with the assault.
The Pragjyotishpur police have arrested the suspect and initiated legal proceedings. It is reported that the youth had travelled to Dhamkhunda for Bihu dance training, where he met the victim.
Tragically, two days after their first meet, the victim was assaulted on Friday night after being coerced into a meeting following the dance class. Residents intervened, detaining the suspect and turning him over to the police.
The Pragjyotishpur police have filed a case under IPC sections 448/376 C(a) and 56/2024 and have incarcerated the accused.
