Digital Desk: In a horrifying incident, a Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) doctor, Himangshu Rajbongshi was attacked on Thursday by a banana vendor in Guwahati. The GMCH doctor, who sustained serious injuries was attacked with scissors at the Bhangagarh banana market. He was immediately admitted to the emergency ward of GMCH for treatment.


According to reports, the injured doctor and the banana seller were involved in an argument which resulted in the attack. The argument erupted over the pricing of bananas. The eyewitnesses said that the doctor grabbed the vendor's neck following which the vendor attacked him with a pair of scissors to retaliate.


The banana vendor identified as Imdadul Haque was arrested after the brutal attack by the Bhangagarh Police. An investigation is underway regarding the horrific incident.


Eyewitnesses said that the heated altercation led the banana seller to attack the doctor with scissors typically used to cut banana stems. The Medical Community condemned the attack and demanded strict action against the banana seller.
