6 youths from the Chhaygaon area went for a picnic and slaughtered a cow....

Digital Desk: Police detained six men from the Chhaygaon area after a picnic video went viral  where, they were seen publicly slaughtering cow meat aka “beef”, which attracted widespread attention. A video went viral where they displayed how they were carrying knives and cooking tools and then carried the cow in a boat to be slaughtered. 

The Director General of Police in Assam confirmed that police caught six men involved in the public cow slaughter. He added they would face appropriate legal proceedings. Based on video evidence of illegal cattle slaughter State police took six perpetrators into custody and continued their legal investigation.

Police arrested six men named Sahil Khan (20), Hafizur Islam (19), Rokibul Husain (20), Sahidul Islam (30), Izaz Khan (26), and Jahidul Islam (24) from Asalpara village in Kamrup district.
The event drew strong protests mainly from Hindu people who worship cows as holy creatures. This incident has attention to the Assam Cattle Preservation Act 2021 which prohibits both illegal meat sales and unlawful cattle killing operations.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma defends and enforces the law because he believes it protects sacred traditions and keeps communities peacefully united. This shows why people must follow legal rules while respecting how culture and religion affect society in the area.
