Digital Desk: Google is bringing the Street View feature to India. People will now be able to virtually experience any location or restaurant while sitting at home and seeing famous places. In collaboration with local traffic authorities, Google Maps will now include showing the speed limit, information on road closures and disruptions, and better-optimized signal lights.

In collaboration with Tech Mahindra, a top supplier of digital transformation, consultancy, and business re-engineering services and solutions, and Genesys International, a leading provider of advanced mapping solutions, Google has announced the introduction of its Street View experience in India.

The new Street View feature is now available on Google Maps, but it's only being tested in Bangalore for the time being. According to Google, the feature will first go live in Hyderabad and then later in Kolkata. The Street View will soon be made available in other Indian cities, including Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Vadodara, Ahmednagar, and Amritsar.

This feature is quite simple to use. To view a specific location, simply open the Google Maps app, zoom into a road in one of these target cities, and tap. Learn about the local coffee shops and cultural hubs, or explore the neighbourhood.
