Suklabaidya spoke with the city's taxi drivers earlier today at ISBT in Guwahati...

Digital Desk: In 2023, the Assam government intends to launch a new cab service app for people. Parimal Suklabaidya, the transport minister, announced this on Saturday.

Suklabaidya spoke with the city's cab drivers earlier today at ISBT in Guwahati.

According to insiders, the new government-launched cab service will be made affordable to clients.

Drivers would gain from the service as well, as they will not have to pay any commission for each journey to the app other than Rs. 12.50 each day.

This cab service will employ up to 50,000 vehicles.

It should be mentioned that since the government relaxed the covid-19 lockdown, cab and bike service has been a hassle for many commuters since they demand extra money and, if refused, cancel the ride. Upon becoming aware of the problem, our state administration implemented a number of severe measures to address it, but they had no effect.

Cab drivers, on the other hand, said that the cab firms for whom they work charged them a high commission for each journey, causing them to lose money.

The government built this plan to benefit both customers and service providers.
