Glasgow: On Friday, the Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg said that the recently concluded climate summit held in United Kingdom’s Glasgow was a massive ‘failure.’
The young environmental campaigner said this while taking part in a mass protest in Glasgow concerning the international environmental summit COP 26 held in the Scottish city.
Thunberg sharply reacted to the summit and stated that the pledges taken by the nations during the summit to reduce carbon emissions was nothing much, but a two week long celebration of business as usual.
Further, she also mentioned that the COP 26 was not a climate conference in any manner, but it was a festival to mislead and greenwash people in the name of environmental protection.

"It is not a secret that COP26 is a failure," she said.
"This is no longer a climate conference. This is now a global greenwashing festival," she added.
The 18-year-old also blamed the world leaders for their lack of leadership and commitment.
"Our leaders are not leading. This is what leadership looks like," she said.
In addition to Thunberg, other prominent climate activists were also present during the protest.
Earlier this week, leaders from around 200 countries met at Glasgow for the COP 26 Summit. The aim of this conference was to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and limit the global temperature rise to 1.5 to 2 degrees.
