As part of the Women's Day celebration, PM Modi will disburse over Rs 450 crore to more than 2.5 lakh women from 25,000 different Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the state, an official release stated. 

Digital Desk: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Gujarat's Navsari district to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, the state has deployed all women police personnel to provide security during the event. The Indian PM is on a two-day visit to Gujarat and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli scheduled on Friday and Saturday.

Speaking to a news agency, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi said, "On the occasion of International Women's Day, Prime Minister Modi will attend the 'Lakhpati Didi' program in Navsari district, where around 1.5 lakh women are expected to participate."

He added, "This program will surely mark a new milestone in policing. All aspects of law and order, along with event management, will be handled entirely by women officers and staff."

Sanghavi said that the security of the event will be handled by all women police personnel, including 2,100 constables, 187 sub-inspectors (SI), 61 police inspectors, 16 deputy superintendents of police (DSP), five superintendents of police (SP), one Inspector General of Police (IGP) and one Additional DGP (ADGP) rank officer.
