The BJP now holds 127 seats in Gujarat, but based on current statistics, the party is on track to break its own record

Digital Desk: The BJP made significant gains in the early hours of voting, crossing the half-way mark in early trends, with important candidates such as incumbent Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Hardik Patel, and Alpesh Thakor leading from their respective constituencies. The Congress Party was trounced in the early trends, but it maintained its second place, leaving the Aam Aadmi Party in a distant third place. However, with a lead of eight seats, the AAP hopes to be recognised as a national party.

The BJP now holds 127 seats in Gujarat, but based on current statistics, the party is on track to break its own record. The BJP is set to break the Congress's 1985 record of 149 seats.
