Digital Desk: On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought blessings at the Somnath temple before of his rallies in poll-bound Gujarat. He is all set to address three public meetings in the Saurashtra area as he sounds the campaign horn throughout the state.


Prime Minister Modi arrived in Somnath for darshan on Sunday morning as part of a three-day visit to poll-bound Gujarat.




With the Gujarat assembly elections approaching, Political parties are now in the midst of their campaigns. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is counting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to lead the charge. 


PM Modi will hold rallies in Gujarat's Saurashtra region for three days starting today. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, will also address two public forums in the districts of Tapi and Narmada.


On December 1, 788 candidates, including 70 women, will compete for 89 of the Assembly's 182 seats in the first round of the Gujarat Assembly elections. So far, the Election Commission has received 1,515 nomination papers for the 93 seats up for election in the second phase on December 5. 


The counting of votes will take place on December 8, which is also the date of the Himachal Pradesh election results.


Following his visit to Somnath Temple, he will address four rallies in the Saurashtra area. Veraval, Dhorarji, Amreli, and Botad have been chosen as locations.
