Kataria was appointed as the new Governor of Assam on February 12, succeeding Prof. Jagdish Mukhi.

Digital Desk: The newly appointed Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria is scheduled to take oath on February 22.

"I shall fulfil the constitutional obligation given to me by Prime Minister Modi and our party in such a way that I will live up to the expectations of the high command and the Prime Minister," Kataria said in an interview with the media.

"Even before this, whatever role was assigned to me by the Bharatiya Janata Party, I did an excellent job of delivering it," he added.

Kataria was appointed as the new Governor of Assam on February 12, succeeding Prof. Jagdish Mukhi.

Gulab Chand Kataria is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). From 2014 to 2018, he was Rajasthan's home minister. He is a senior BJP leader who also serves on the party's central working committee.

Kataria succeeds the current Assam Governor at a time when other state governorships are changing hands.
