This unfortunate incident comes after a string of hit-and-run incidents in Guwahati, which has raised serious questions regarding road safety. 

Digital Desk: A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the Lalung Gaon neighborhood of Guwahati, near the Jalukbari-Lokhra route (NH 37) Sunday night. She died right away when a speeding four-wheeler struck her when she was trying to cross the road. 

The victim was left behind when the car's driver quickly fled the area. The Garchuk Police arrived to retrieve the remains for a postmortem examination as soon as possible in response to the circumstances. 

This unfortunate incident comes after a string of hit-and-run incidents in Guwahati, which has raised serious questions regarding road safety. A few days before, a hit-and-run incident in the Bharalumukh area claimed the life of Kamal Baruah, a young musician who was a part of the "Smack Band." At Bharalu Point, a speeding dumper struck Baruah's motorcycle, smashing hopes and breaking hearts. 

The day before, Sumit Boro, a guy who had to move to Guwahati for business, died after being hit by an unidentified car close to the District Transport Office (DTO) in Betkuchi. Boro passed away at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) from his injuries.
