Digital Desk: A husband-wife duo was arrested in Guwahati for their involvement in drug smuggling on Monday, reports said.

The city police in Amingaon detained a bus this morning based on reliable information that regular drug dealers were carrying contraband on it.

Two chronic drug dealers were reportedly detained by the Special Task Force (STF), Assam when they intercepted the bus with registration number AS15 AC 2826 on National Highway-27 in Amingaon. 
 
The arrestees have been identified as Hamida Begum (45) and Md. Kharshed Ali (53).
 
Two cell phones and twelve soap boxes carrying 139.5 grams of suspected heroin were recovered by the STF, reports stated. Further interrogation is underway.
