Guwahati: In a successful crackdown on illegal prostitution racket being carried on in the heart of the city, the Guwahati police arrested nine women yesterday for running the racket in Hatigaon.
The women were arrested from the residence of one SN Dev Pujari, an advocate in Hatigaon's Bisjnujyoti Path. Along with the nine women, three customers were also arrested from the house.

The operation was led by ADCP Vivekananda Das.
The police team leading the operation seized cash and some objectionable items from the residence.
An investigation is underway for the same.
