Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority manages water delivery pipes in the affected region...

Digital Desk: On Saturday, there was another water pipe explosion in the city of Guwahati.

This time, the incident happened in Maligaon's Kamakhya Colony.

Water supply pipelines in the affected area are reportedly overseen by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), according to sources.

Residents who are furious are requesting immediate action from the relevant department to address the problem and stop further disruptions.

It should be noted that the city has had several water pipe rupture accidents since May 25 that have caused mayhem in various neighbourhoods.

Earlier on August 13, a water pipe break was reported in the vicinity of the Zoo Road flyover that was still under construction, flooding Rajdhani Nursery and the surrounding region.

The villagers said that the relevant department's administrators paid no attention to the frequent incidents.

An earlier leak in a water pipeline put in place by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the Guwahati neighbourhood of Geetanagar increased residents' concerns.

The region was flooded after a water pipeline burst, seriously disrupting traffic for pedestrians.
