Digital Desk: The Guwahati passenger ropeway will be out of service for ten days due to a mandatory maintenance and rescue mock drill for an annual maintenance check according to an announcement by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority(GMDA). The shutdown will commence from 15 to 24 October. The services will reopen from 25th October.
In an official notification, the GMDA Chief Executive officer said "The operation of the Guwahati Passenger Ropeway shall remain closed starting from 15-10-2024 to 24-10-2024 (i.e 10 days) for annual maintenance works and rescue mock drill. The ropeway normal operations will be resumed from 25-10-2024." Passengers have been advised by the authority of GDMA to adjust travel plans and use a different mode of transport during this shutdown.
