Digital Desk: Samarjyoti Bharali, the malefactor who subjected his mother to unimaginable acts, was reportedly released by dispur police hours after being arrested in connection to the case.
According to reports, Bharali was released late on Monday midnight. He was taken into custody earlier in the day following the horrific crime.
Bharali was later released by the police after his father claimed that his child had done nothing wrong and was innocent.
The community is in shock that how someone could treat his old mother in such a horrible way after he was accused of causing immense physical and mental torture.
A video of the incident has also surfaced, in which Bharali is shown brutally assaulting his elderly mother and pouring hot water on her fragile body. The elderly woman was also tied and forced to endure the scorching sun on the porch.
Notably, the incident occurred near the District Commissioner's Office, which is situated in the Hengerabari area of Guwahati.
As per reports, the mother of Samajyoti Bharali is currently receiving treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
