Guwahati: The Kamrup (Metro) district administration has declared Handique Girls' College as a micro containment zone following the detection of Covid cases in the campus.
The district administration notified for the same in an official notice stating, "In view of the detection of Covid-19 positive cases among students and staff of Handique Girls' College, teh Kamrup (Metro) District Administration has, vide order no. DDMA K(M)20/2021/505 dated 01/12/2021 to December 7, 2021. The movement of any unauthorized individuals and vehicle within the campus area is prohibited. In view of this, all physical classes are suspended for the notified period and sessional exams postponed until further notice. All departments are asked to move their classes online."

The declaration of the containment zone comes into force from December 1.
It maybe mentioned here that several other schools in Assam have been declared micro containment zone following the detection of the infection among the students and teaching staff.
