Ratan Tata, the Indian tycoon, is celebrating his 86th birthday today, December 28, on a memorable day in his life. On December 28, 1937, Ratan Tata was born in Mumbai, India, to Naval and Sooni Tata.

• Ratan Tata's great-grandfather is Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata group. When Ratan Tata was just ten years old in 1948, his parents divorced, and he was reared and adopted by his grandmother, Navajbai Tata, who was also Ratanji Tata's widow. 

• The 86-year-old former Tata Group chairman and philanthropist did not get married. Ratan Tata revealed in a 2011 interview that he had attempted marriage four times but was unable to do so for a variety of reasons.

• Ratan Tata already said that he had once fallen in love while working in Los Angeles. However, the girl's parents opposed sending their daughter to India because of the 1962 Indo-China War. He never got married after that. 

• In 2004, TCS went public under the direction of Ratan Tata. Ratan Tata pledged in 2009 to produce the most affordable car possible, one that the Indian middle class could buy. The group later introduced Tata Nano, priced at Rs 1 lakh.

• People have been advised to care for stray pets by the Indian billionaire. Bombay House has been providing street dogs with a warm and inviting home since Jamsetji Tata's day. The custom was carried on by Ratan Tata. Following renovations in 2018, the Tata Group's headquarters, Bombay House, now features a luxurious space specifically designated for stray dogs.
