Digital Desk: The Haryana government on Tuesday extended the temporary suspension of mobile internet services, bulk SMS, except banking and mobile recharge, and all dongle services offered on mobile networks, except voice calls, in the Nuh district till midnight on August 11.

According to a formal announcement, the suspension has been mandated under Rule (2) of the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules, 2017, and Section 5 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885.

According to the statement, a temporary ban was put in place to stop the spread of false information and rumours via SMS and numerous social media apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

The statement said, "All state telecom service providers have been instructed to ensure compliance with this order, and any person found guilty of violating the order will be subject to legal action under applicable provisions."
