Digital Desk: HDFC Bank announced on Saturday a 22.30% increase in its consolidated net profit for the September quarter, coming in at Rs. 11,125.21 crores.

In comparison to the same period a year ago and the June quarter before, the largest private sector bank's standalone net profit increased by more than 20% to Rs 10,605.78 crore from Rs 8,834.31 crore.

According to the bank, the overall revenue for the reporting quarter increased to Rs 46,182 crore from Rs 38,754 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while the expenditure, excluding provisions and contingencies, increased to Rs 28,790 crore from Rs 22,947 crore.

From 1.35 percent in the same quarter a year ago and 1.28 percent three months ago, the overall percentage of gross non-performing assets improved to 1.23 percent of the book.
