Over 750 athletes from across the country compete in the 61st edition of the National inter-state senior athletics championships. 


Digital Desk:  The 61st edition of the National inter-state senior athletics championships kick-started on June 10 and will end on June 14 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. 


The competition serves as a final trial for participants hoping to qualify for the World Championships, which will be held in Oregon (USA) from July 15 to 24, followed by the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham (July 28-August 8).


Amlan Borgohian of Assam won the men's 100m gold medal today in Chennai at the 61st National Inter-State Athletics Championships in 10:48 seconds.


Moreover, Hima Das also won the gold medal in the women's 100m with a timing of 11:43 seconds, beating Dutti Chand. 


With pride and joy for the state Lakshya Konwar, the President of the Assam Athletics Association, and Ashok Bharali, the association's Editor, have both expressed their best wishes for the duo's success.
