Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit t Dibrugarh in Assam on Tuesday to attend a public event, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated.  

Before the Union minister departed for the nearby state of Arunachal Pradesh, Sarma met Shah, who is considered to be the BJP's chief strategist, at the Dibrugarh airport.

Sarma taking Twitter wrote, “It was a pleasure to welcome him (Shah) on his arrival at Dibrugarh airport today. He will visit Arunachal Pradesh today and will lay the foundation stone of the district office of @BJP4Assam besides addressing a public meeting in Dibrugarh tomorrow.” 

The state BJP president, Bhabesh Kalita, was with the chief minister as he inspected the meeting's preparations.

The meeting will also include Union ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameswar Teli, according to party sources.

Shah will also preside over the "bhumi pujan" (groundbreaking ceremony) of the BJP's upper Assam regional headquarters.
