Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a key meeting with the Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states on March 16, before concluding his 3-day visit to the northeast. The meeting will review the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which replaced the Indian Panel Code (IPC) in the region.

After the inauguration of the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon on March 15, HM Shah travelled to Mizoram to attend a programme of the Assam Rifles at 3 PM. He spent the night in Mizoram and travelled back to Assam on March 16.

Earlier on Sunday, he visited Kokrajhar to address the 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU).

Later in the afternoon, he will reach Guwahati to chair a key meeting with the Chief Ministers of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland, and Sikkim. As Manipur is under the President's rule following the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, there is no information about the representative of the state in the CMs meet with Amit Shah.

All the states will have to give one presentation each on the progress of the implementation of the BNS so far. Shah will fly back to New Delhi on the same day after the meeting.
