In a similar event, two HSLC candidates were dismissed from the S. Ali Higher Secondary School in the South Salmara Mankachar district's Sukchar.

Digital Desk: A total of nine candidates have been expelled during the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination in Assam’s Morigaon district.

The incident occurred at the Laharighat Higher Secondary School on Thursday.

Eight female and one male student were among the expelled students. Due to their use of unethical tactics to pass the social science exam, the students have been dismissed.

The expelled students include Samima Aktara, Mehima Begum, Kasima Khatun, Salma Khatun, Tara Banu, Sahil Alom, Mousumi Begum, Ruptaz Jahan, and Martuja Begum.

In a similar event, two HSLC candidates were dismissed from the S. Ali Higher Secondary School in the South Salmara Mankachar district's Sukchar. As a result of employing unethical methods to take the exam, the candidates were expelled.

In the meantime, the exams for the Social Science subject were held on Thursday at the JR Higher Secondary School centre in Ganirgram, Cachar district, under strict supervision and with tight security measures.

According to reports, candidates were screened by metal detectors before entering the exam room. On the first and second days of the HSLC exam, there were a number of irregularities reported from the testing facility.

Significantly, the Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) had stated that all 760 students from the JR Upper Secondary School centre would need to re-appear for the English subject in the Compartmental test 2023, which will be held as soon as possible.

The instruction came when Assam's chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, learned of the cheating and paper leak occurrences and instructed SEBA to take action against the testing centres where such incidents are occurring.
