Gogamukh, Dhemaji: Yet another spine chilling incident of a minor girl's rape and murder has been reported in Gogamukh on Tuesday. A nine-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and hanged with a gamusa, creates sensation among the locals.

It was just a week ago, a Karbi girl's killing exposed horrors of child abuse around Nagoan. She was working in Raha at one Borthakur's family as household help. The 12-year-old victim was allegedly raped and set ablaze by her employer, whon was alleged to be pregnant at the time of his death, the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) said, according to news reports.

On Tuesday, reports of 9-year old victim who was raped and murdered, as alleged by the locals, was said to be alone in her home. She was a student of Sankardev Shishu Niketan School, Gogamukh. She has been alleged of being raped and eventually murdered, hanged with a gamusa in her room in the absence of family members at home. The people have alleged the action of a group involved in this heinous crime, who took the advantage of her isolation at home.

Regular cases of such inhuman acts against minors in the state has not only shocked everyone, but forced to rethink on the lackadaisical attitude of the administration in tackling such crimes and enforcing stricter laws in bringing the perpetrators to realms of legal punishment.
