Digital Desk: In a horrific incident, an excessively inebriated lady murdered her one-year-old female child in the city of Mangalhat. The lady, Laxmi, allegedly assaulted her kid and choked her.
Laxmi and her kid were living in huts at Dattatreya Kaman, behind Seetharambagh shrine in Mangalhat. She picked rags for a living and was hooked to booze. She drank alcohol after finishing her day's job on Tuesday. She assaulted her kid with her fists and throttled her neck, killing her on the spot, later that night while under the influence of alcohol.

Locals alerted police, who raced to the scene and collected the body of the one-year-old child, which was then transported for a postmortem investigation. A murder charge has been filed against Laxmi.
