During the three-match ODI series against England, the Indian captain enjoyed a fantastic run. Kaur scored a total of 221 runs in three matches.

Digital Desk: Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain of women's cricket team, is having a fantastic year. She oversaw the Indian team's successful 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) campaign earlier this year.

Although things didn't go as planned, India still managed to win the silver medal. Kaur was appointed the full-time captain of the Indian cricket team after Mithali Raj retired, and it appears like she is loving every challenge that is being thrown at her.

The ICC has honored India's captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who is currently enjoying her recent success. Harmanpreet has been honoured by the International Cricket Council with the best player title for September, making her the first recipient of the ICC Women's Player of the Month award.

In their three-match ODI series, the Indian captain enjoyed a fantastic run against England. Kaur scored 221 runs overall during the course of three games. The Indian captain had a strike rate of 103.27 and an average of 221. She outperformed her fellow countrywoman Smriti Mandhana, who amassed 181 runs overall at a respectable average of 60.33.

September was a noteworthy month for Harmanpreet Kaur as a player and also as the captain. She led the Indian women's side to a 3-0 victory over Amy Jones' led team of England, India's first series victory in England since 1999.

Harmanpreet said with sheer delight:

"It was great to be nominated for the award and to win it is an amazing feeling. To come out as a winner when being nominated alongside Smriti and Nigar is very humbling. I have always taken immense pride in representing my country and achieving the historic ODI series win in England will remain a landmark moment for me in my career. The game of cricket is blessed to have some of the finest athletes on the sporting circuit and to be chosen the ICC Women’s Player of the Month amongst them is a special recognition for me as an individual and the captain of the Indian cricket team."

In the first ODI of the series, Kaur batted brilliantly, scoring 74* while chasing 228. She then backed it up with a 143* off 111 balls, which is also her second-highest ODI score.
