Digital Desk: Defending champion India secured their Final berth defeating England in one of the semi-finals of the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup on Friday. India comfortably achieved a 9-wicket victory to secure a spot in the final, scheduled to be held on Sunday. Indian spinners played a major role in defeating England in the semi-final game.

England won the toss and chose to bat first. Davina Perrin and captain Abigale Norgrove started the innings confidently. Perrin scored 45 runs off 40 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours. Skipper Norgrove put 30 runs to the scoreboard, with 1 six and 3 fours.

However, England's other batters could not contribute much and failed miserably in front of the Indian spinners. They completely collapsed in front of India's spin magic. Parunika Sisodia and Aayushi Shukla helped India to fight back against the England team.

Coming to bat first, England could only put 113/8 on the scoreboard. Indian spinners restricted England's batters to a low-scoring total.

Chasing the target of 114 runs, Indian openers laid the foundation for the team. Both the openers scored a 60-run partnership for the first wicket when Phoebe Brett got Gongadi Trisha's wicket. Trisha scored 35 runs off 29 balls, while Kamalini brought up her fifty with a classic boundary.

Kamalini was joined by Sanilka Chalke after Trisha's dismissal. She and Kamalini finished the game in style for India with five overs to spare.
