Digital Desk: In a recent presser, The School of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT Guwahati ) announced the commencement of a new Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) from the academic year 2022- 2023. The IIT authorities aim at training young, vibrant, and talented youths across the nation about the potential and necessity of bringing in sustainable energy development and its studies in the region. In a press conference, the IIT authorities said that the new programme aims at decreasing the gaps between academia, humanities, science, engineering, economics, management, Societal & Environmental Impact Studies. The first batch of 20 students will be admitted to IIT Guwahati through the JEE Advanced 2022 counselling process. Professor T.G Sitharam, Director IIT Guwahati informed the press about the usefulness of the Energy Engineering programme as it will provide a fundamental understanding of the renewable energy infrastructure, system development for sustainable carbon-neutral growth.
