Digital Desk: Schools, colleges and coaching institutes to reopen from next week announced the Delhi government on Friday. Moreover, it also reopened Gyms, swimming pools, and spas with strict covid-19 protocols. Reportedly, the night curfew has been shortened by an hour, and it now it will be from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Previously, the night curfew began at 10 p.m. Schools will reopen in two phases, with classes 9 to 12 starting on February 7 and classes from nursery to 8 from February 14. Moreover, unvaccinated teachers will not be allowed to teach, said Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Deputy Manish Sisodia. People driving cars alone do not have to wear masks and offices can work with 100% attendance. The decision by the national capital to relax restrictions and reopen schools and colleges comes a day after the center announced that covid-19 cases and positivity rates had started to decline. Expert assistance was used to make the decisions, which came amid a steady decline in the positivity rate and covid-19 cases. The DDMA meeting, which Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal headed, focused on improving vaccination for the 15-18 age range. In the two weeks between January 21 and February 3, the number of cases in India fell by half, from 3,47,254 to 1,72,433. During the same period, the daily positivity rate, or the number of infections per 100 tests, declined by 39%, from 17.94% to 10.99%, indicating a clear decline in covid-19 infection spread.
