As per IMD, heavy rain will fall on Assam and Meghalaya from April 10-12.


Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in the north-eastern part of India until April 12. However, the meteorological department also stated that Northwestern India, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, will be under the spell of a severe heatwave for the next five days.


According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely probable over Arunachal Pradesh (9 and 10 April), Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim (8-10 April), and Assam-Meghalaya (9-12 April).

As per IMD, heavy rain will fall on Assam and Meghalaya from April 10-12.


Heavy rain is expected on April 8 and 9 in south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala.


The meteorological department also stated that light rain with thunderstorms/lightning is possible over Kerala-Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamilnadu-Puducherry-Karaikal, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka over the next 5 days.


On April 9, coastal Andhra Pradesh will also see light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.


The IMD has warned citizens to exercise caution in most parts of the country in a detailed forecast. According to the IMD, heatwave conditions are very probable in most parts of India. In addition, West  Rajasthan will experience severe heatwave conditions.


During the next five days, East Rajasthan, along with Punjab and south Haryana-Delhi, will experience severe heatwave conditions.


West Uttar Pradesh will experience severe heatwave conditions during the next three days. Similar conditions will prevail over Gujarat state on the 8th and 9th of April.


Heatwave conditions will persist over Himachal Pradesh for the next four days, over Madhya Pradesh for the next two days, and in isolated pockets for the next three days.


The IMD also stated that heatwave conditions are likely over Uttar Pradesh over the next 5 days.


 From April 9-12, Jharkhand and Bihar will experience heatwave conditions.


The Jammu division will be hit by a heatwave on April 8, while Vidarbha will be affected from April 10 to 12.
