Heavy rains in Manipur's Noney district have closed the Imphal-Silchar highway...

Digital Desk: Heavy rain in Manipur's Noney district resulted in the closure of the Imphal-Silchar highway, stranding at least 500 commercial vehicles. Incessant Rain and a major landslide have caused the food and fuel supply to be disrupted in the region.

On Wednesday, heavy rain caused landslides on National Highway 37 between Irang and Awangkhul part 2, Khongsang and Awangkhul, and Rangkhui village.

A major landslip slammed a railway building site in the district in June 2022, killing at least 61 persons. The landslip occurred at the Jiribam-Imphal railway line's Tupul railway yard construction site.
