The Chief Minister spoke on prospects for Meghalaya's workers to search jobs abroad, particularly in nations like China, Japan, Germany, the UK, and Australia.

Digital Desk: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma stated on Wednesday that there are limited jobs in the public sector and that the state government is concentrating on giving young people possibilities through entrepreneurship. 

The Chief Minister stated that the Government has envisioned a multi-pronged strategy to address the employment crisis while speaking at the Rozger Mela hosted by NEHU, Shillong.

He admitted that the number of government jobs and agency jobs has generally been small, with annual estimates not exceeding 1200–1500 positions, covering various sectors, departments, divisions, and district choices. 

Despite some variances, he remarked, there are about 1200 positions added annually.

Additionally, he stressed the necessity for an all-encompassing strategy to solve this issue, stressing that there are no clear-cut right or incorrect answers but rather the need for taking proactive measures at all levels to address these employment-related issues.

He continued by stating that the administration was committed to helping youth have access to opportunities for skill and language development.
