Khan has recently praised India for its independent foreign policy, particularly for staying neutral in the Russia-Ukraine conflict despite pressure from US-led western countries that supported Kyiv.

Digital Desk: Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, once again praised India and slammed the Pakistan government after the federal government hiked the petrol and diesel prices by PKR 30 per litre.

According to reports, Miftah Ismail, Pakistan's finance minister, announced on Thursday that his administration had decided to raise fuel, kerosene oil, and diesel prices by Rs 30 per litre starting from Friday (May 27).

Ismail said, "Petrol will cost Rs 179.86 per litre, while diesel will cost Rs 174.15 per litre, and the new price will go into effect at midnight."

Imran Khan slammed the government following the news, claiming that this was the single highest price increase in Pakistan's history. He called the Sharif led government is 'incompetent and insensitive' for not pursuing the deal of 30 per cent cheaper oil with Russia.

"Nation starting to pay the price for Imported govt's subservience before foreign masters with 20%/Rs30 per litre hike in petrol and diesel prices - the highest single price hike in our history. The incompetent and insensitive Govt has not pursued our deal with Russia for 30% cheaper oil," Khan said in a tweet.

Further, the former Prime Minister, who was ousted from office last month, lauded India for lowering fuel prices. He stated that while Pakistan was raising its prices, India was able to lower its costs by purchasing cheaper oil from Russia.

"In contrast, India, a key US ally, has lowered fuel prices by PKR 25 per litre by purchasing cheaper oil from Russia. Now, in the hands of this cabal of crooks, our country will suffer another big dose of inflation," he said.

It may be mentioned that Khan has recently praised India for its independent foreign policy, particularly for staying neutral in the Russia-Ukraine conflict despite pressure from US-led western countries that supported Kyiv.
