addition to all the wonderful moments in other sports, the Commonwealth Games
2022 also attracted notice for several horrific bicycle crashes. Meenakshi, an
Indian cyclist, was run over by one of her competitors during the Women's 10km
Scratch Race, resulting in a terrible accident.
Meenakshi was
participating in the race on Monday when she slipped down the bank over the
curve and fell from her bike.
Bryony Botha, of
New Zealand, was also involved in the collision when her bicycle ran over
Meenakshi, and Botha herself came off of her bike.
Soon after, medical
personnel arrived on the scene, and both riders were removed from the
competition.
Laura Kenny of
England won the competition's gold medal.
On social media, a video of Meenakshi's terrifying collision has gone viral.
