Australia defeated India by 9 wickets in the third Test of the series, led by Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne...

Digital Desk: The devastating 9-wicket win by Australia in the Indore Test demonstrated how severely India was outplayed in conditions that should have been dominated by the host team. Instead, the Australians, still suffering from crushing setbacks in Nagpur and Delhi, needed just over two days to pull off one of the most extraordinary victories by a visiting team on Indian soil.

Australia needed only 76 runs to win the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test, but after the second day of play, Umesh Yadav believed India had a strong opportunity.

Australia beat India by 9 wickets

A win at Indore would have guaranteed India either a team spot in the World Test Championship final; however, it was Australia who secured that spot with outstanding play on a wicket that worried even India's batting coach Vikram Rathour.

India's batsmen were once again vulnerable against spin in Indore. India suffered a surprising home Test defeat. India was defeated only by England in (2012 and 2021) and Australia (2017 and 2023) have won Tests in India in the last 11 years. That speaks a lot about India's dominance at home, but the question is how long the batters will be protected by two world-class spinners.
