India will play Australia in the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy test on February 9...

Digital Desk: The first Test of the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be held at Nagpur on February 9th.

India has won three-Test series against Australia and also has a stronger head-to-head record, having won 22 out of 52 Tests.

The temperature is forecast to be 21 degrees Celsius on Day 1 of the first Test, which begins at 9:30 AM IST and will rise as the day passes. According to the Met Office, there is no risk of precipitation.

Ahead of the first Test, India captain Rohit Sharma talked up on the team decision, saying "Shubman has been in peak form, a lot of big hundreds, on the other hand, SKY has showed what he brings to the range, but we have not decided whom we will go with."

One of the major absentees from the Test series will be wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is recovering from a near-fatal automobile accident. "We will miss Rishabh Pant but we have guys to replace his role. We had an excellent discussion with the hitters about their ideas, which we want to put into action starting tomorrow "Rohit stated.

When asked about the pitch's media uproar in Australia, Rohit stated that the track will assist spinners. "Cricket khelo, itna pitch maat dekho. After all, the 22 guys on the field are all good players" He stated.
