Digital Desk: India will face New Zealand in the third ODI of their three-match series at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Tuesday (January 24, 2023). The hosts clinched the series with an eight-wicket victory in the second ODI on Wednesday in Raipur. Chasing a target of 109 runs, India eased to 111 for two in 20.1 overs, courtesy of a half-century by Rohit Sharma. At first, Mohammed Shami's three-wicket haul helped India bowl out the visitors for 108 runs in 34.3 overs. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya each received two dismissals.

Earlier, India defeated New Zealand by a commanding 67-run margin in the first ODI.

On the surface, the third ODI may appear to be a dead rubber, but both teams have a lot to look forward to. If India wins the third and final One-Day International on Tuesday, they would not only record their sixth consecutive victory, but they would also dethrone New Zealand and become the top-ranked ODI team.

In terms of team composition, India might try out newcomers Shahbaz Ahmed and Umran Malik, who haven't played in the series so far.

Considering that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not playing in the T20I series, which begins on January 27, it is doubtful that they will miss the last ODI.
