Deepak Hooda replaced Axar Patel in India's playing XI, while Lungi Ngidi has replaced Tabraiz Shamsi in South Africa.

Digital Desk: Suryakumar Yadav hit fifty in 30 balls as India seeks to build a competitive total against South Africa following Lungi Ngidi's havoc.

Lungi Ngidi took four wickets to dismantle India's top-order, putting the onus on Suryakumar and Dinesh Karthik to guide the team to a respectable score.

Dinesh Karthik leaves the field after scoring 6 runs off 15 balls. He was struggling in the middle, and his inning ended on Wayne Parnell's pitch. Karthik tried to take on a short ball from the left-arm pacer but got an outside edge on the draw and was out on backward point.

Meanwhile, Anrich Nortje took one wicket as India struggled to a dismal start against South Africa. Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first against South Africa in the Group 2 encounter on Sunday in Perth.

Today's Indian Cricket Playing XI Squad: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh
