Since the ODI series against the West Indies in February 2022, Washington hasn't participated in any games for India...

Digital Desk: Washington Sundar has been replaced in the Indian One-Day International team for the three-match series against Zimbabwe by uncapped all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed.

At the Harare Sports Club, India and Zimbabwe will play three one-day internationals (ODIs) on August 18, 20 and 22.

Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Shahbaz has been added to the Indian ODI team after Washington was ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour due to a shoulder injury sustained while playing a county game in England.

While playing for Lancashire against Worcestershire in a Royal London One-Day Cup match in Manchester on August 11, Washington injured his left shoulder severely. After undergoing shoulder treatment, the all-rounder for India left the field.

Since the ODI series against the West Indies in February 2022, Washington hasn't participated in any games for India. He had to sit out after suffering a hand injury while playing for SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022.

Shahbaz led the Royal Challengers Bangalore to 219 runs in 16 matches. Additionally, in the 2022 Indian Premier League, he recorded four wickets. Shahbaz scored 262 runs for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy in June, including a century.

India squad for 3 ODIs: KL Rahul (c), Shikhar Dhawan (vc), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Mohd Siraj, Deepak Chahar, Shahbaz Ahmed.
