Digital Desk: India defeated Australia by six wickets in the second Twenty20 match at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Friday.

India has thus levelled the three-match series at one each.

In the final over against Daniel Sams, Dinesh Karthik smashed a six and a four to successfully finish off the run chase.  He smashed it backward square leg for a six and concluded the chase with a four through deep mid-wicket.

KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav were all dismissed earlier by Adam Zampa, who struck three times in two overs. In the opening over, which was delivered by Josh Hazlewood, the partnership scored 20 runs.

Earlier, in a game affected by rain at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur, Matthew Wade's powerful hitting led Australia to 90 for five. India decided to bowl first after cutting the game to eight overs for each side.

Before losing a few wickets to Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah, Australia made a solid start against the visitors credited to Aaron Finch. Australia appeared to be in trouble, but Wade's 20-ball score of 43 helped them reach a respectable total.
