Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (August 15) launched a scathing attack against the opposition regarding dynasty politics and corruption. During his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the ancient Red Fort, he urged to the countrymen to join him in the fight against corruption.

According to PM Modi, India is facing two major challenges: the first is tackling corruption, and the second is getting rid of "nepotism" and "familism".

While urging the people to not tolerate corruption, PM Modi said, "We need to be alert against corruption".

"We need to combat corruption. Aadhar, DBT, and mobile devices have been used during the past eight years to locate Rs. 2 lakh crore of unaccounted money," the Prime Minister said while praising his government's efforts to combat corruption.

The Prime Minister stated during his Independence Day address from the ramparts of the famous Red Fort that in India, where people are facing poverty, we need to fight against corruption with all of our strength.

The PM stated that corruption is harming the country like termites and that the country must battle it. It is our effort that those who have robbed the nation will have to pay back, he added.

The Prime Minister promised to eradicate corruption from the country and urged citizens to come together as a society to punish those who have spread the evil of corruption.

"The nation cannot advance at an optimal rate unless people have a mindset of penalizing corruption," he said.

In addition, PM Modi used the occasion to slam the opposition parties for their dynasty politics.

"The family rule has a negative impact on many of our institutions, undermines our skills, limits our country's potential, and encourages corruption," he claimed.

Moreover, the PM also invited people to join him in the battle against nepotism, which he described as another "evil."
