Digital Desk: The Indian Embassy in Israel issued an advisory for Indian citizens on Saturday as Israel was declared to be in a "state of war" as a result of an extensive attack by Hamas militants coming from Gaza. Indians living in Israel were urged to follow safety precautions and exercise caution by the authorities.

"In light of the current situation in Israel, all Indian citizens living there are urged to exercise caution and follow any safety precautions that have been prescribed by local authorities. Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary movement, and stay close to safety shelters," the embassy said in a statement.

On Saturday morning, Israel declared a "state of war" after Hamas launched over 5,000 missiles from Gaza, the largest onslaught on Israel in years. Additionally, numerous armed terrorists from the group crossed the border into Israel.
