Digital Desk: According to data supplied by the Health
Ministry, India observed an increase in Covid-19 instances on April 19, with a
total of 10,542 cases recorded in 24 hours. This increase in instances occurred
just one day after the country reported 7,633 cases.
From April 14 to April 18, the country had a downward trend, with 11,109
and 7,633 instances registered, respectively. On April 17, India reported
9,111, 10,093 on April 16, and 10,753 on April 15.
According to the Health Ministry, the active population in the country
is now 63,562. According to data updated at 8 a.m., 38 deaths were documented
in the last 24 hours, with 11 confirmed by Kerala. With this the total deaths
in the country stands at 531190.
The
daily positivity rate was 4.39 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was
5.1 percent. According to the government, active cases now account for 0.14
percent of total infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.67
percent.

directors says no need to panic

Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS Delhi, has stated that while the
country is experiencing a new increase of Covid-19 infections, the scenario is
not one to be concerned about. "Covid-19 cases are increasing across the
country." However, the vast majority of infections are minor. The rate of
hospitalisation has also not increased. "It's not yet a panic
situation," Guleria told ANI.Earlier on April 18, the West Bengal
government issued a Covid-19 advisory, advising people to avoid large crowds,
particularly among the elderly, children, pregnant women, and people with
co-morbidities. To destroy the virus, the advisory also advised individuals to
wash their hands often and use alcohol-based sanitizers. Covid home isolation
for a week is recommended for people who tested positive, and if your symptoms
worsen, contact a hospital or doctor immediately. The advisory restricts the
use of antibiotics or cough syrups without medical advice. A state Helpline No.
14416 has also been established.

COVID-19 cases were seen in Delhi on Tuesday, with a positive rate of 26.54
percent. According to a recent LocalCircles poll, 45 percent of Delhi-NCR
families currently have one or more sick family members. According to official
data, active coronavirus cases in Delhi increased by more than 430 percent in
nearly three weeks, from 932 on March 30 to 4,976 on April 17. Suresh Kumar,
Medical Director of LNJP Hospital, warned on April 13 that coronavirus cases in
the national capital would increase in the coming weeks.
