India successfully test-fired a ballistic missile, Agni-5, on Wednesday. According to a defence statement, the missile test-fire opened from APJ Abdul Kalam Island of the Odisha coast.
The missile uses a three-stage solid-fuelled engine. This engine can strike aims at scales up to 5,000 kilometres with a very high level of efficiency.
The victorious test of Agni-5 is in line with India’s stated policy to have ‘credible least deterrence’ that underpins the pledge to ‘No First Use’.

The latest test comes when India and China are fastened in a border row in the Ladakh sector. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has further mounted its military exercises in the eastern area, including Arunachal Pradesh.
The missile launching was carried out around 7.50 pm on October 27, 2021.
India developed its nuclear trial in 2018 when the indigenous nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine. Including, INS Arihant, completed its first deterrence protection.
India is also promoting a new kind of ultra-modern weapon. This weapon can move six times faster than sound (Mach 6) and enter any protection.
