Digital Desk: The Central Government has informed the Supreme Court that several individuals previously deported to Bangladesh will be brought back to India to have their citizenship claims re-examined.


Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Government before a three-judge bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant, confirmed that these individuals will undergo a thorough verification process to determine their status.


Following this submission, the Supreme Court directed the Central Government to complete the repatriation of these individuals within a period of 8 to 10 days.
