The caller stated that they had abducted Abdul and wanted a $1,200 ransom to ensure his safe release.

Digital Desk: A 25-year-old student from Hyderabad has been missing in the United States since March 7, and his family in India says they received a ransom demand.

The last time Abdul Mohammed was seen was on March 7. He is a Master's student at Cleveland University studying information technology (IT). Later that week, Mohammed Saleem, his father, claimed to have received a call from an unknown number from someone claiming to be in a gang.

The caller stated that they had abducted Abdul and wanted a $1,200 ransom to ensure his safe release. In addition, they threatened to sell Abdul's kidney in exchange if the ransom was not paid.

On March 8, a complaint about Abdul was reported missing to the Cleveland Police by his American family. Abdul is the target of a lookout notice.

In an additional attempt to locate Abdul, the family contacted the Indian consulate in Chicago on March 18.

Investigating Abdul's disappearance is Cleveland Police's current task.
Abdul's mother Abeda, speaking to India Today TV, stated that there had been no contact from her son since March 7. To secure her son's safe return, she appealed to the Center for assistance.
