Digital Desk: India's first long-range revolver Prabal to be launched on Friday. The revolver, which is produced by the state-owned business Advanced Weapons and Equipment India (AWEIL), has a 50-meter maximum firing range. That is twice as far as other revolvers available on the market.

How much does the gun weigh?
The gun weighs 700 grams without cartridges and has a 76 mm barrel. The overall length of the resolver is 177.6 mm.
How does it differ from other revolvers?
As the first revolver with a side swing cylinder, Prabal also makes pulling the trigger simpler. The issue with the majority of early models of revolvers was that they required folding in order to insert cartridges.
Know the manufacturer
Advanced Weapons and Equipment India is located in Kanpur's Armapur which has eight factories where it produces small arms and artillery guns. After the Ordnance Plant Board (OFB) was reorganized and corporatized into seven distinct public sector organizations, the first plant was constructed in 2021.
AWEIL was given a 6,000 crore deal in 2023 to produce defense goods. The Indian Army has also placed a 300-cannon "Sarang" purchase as part of the contract.
