South African spinner Keshav Maharaj becomes No. 1 bowler in ODIs, surpassing Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj...

Digital Desk: South Africa's Keshav Maharaj has surpassed India's Mohammed Siraj as the best ODI bowler. Before the start of the crucial World Cup 2023 semi-finals, the left-arm spinner took the lead.

Maharaj has been outstanding in the major tournament, taking 14 wickets from nine matches at an economy rate of 4.37, including a four-wicket haul. Siraj, on the other side, has 12 wickets in nine games this tournament.

Maharaj will participate in South Africa's semi-final match against Australia on November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The semi-final match between India and New Zealand will take place on Wednesday, November 15 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.

Previously, Siraj was named No. 1 bowler, succeeding Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has slid to No. 9 in the rankings. Maharaj has the highest rating points (726), whereas Siraj has 723.

Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav both rose two spots to Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. Australia's Josh Hazlewood and New Zealand's Trent Boult fell to sixth and seventh place in the rankings, respectively.
